O'ahu

This is O'ahu. It is also known as "The Gathering Place" because most of Hawaii's people live and work in the city of Honolulu. Long time ago Hawaii's King's and Queen's once ruled from Honolulu. Today it the State capital. O'ahu is the 3rd oldest major Hawaii island. The Governor is Ben Cayatano. The flower that represents O'ahu is the ilima. The island song is "Aloha O'ahu," and its color is yellow.


There are many things to do on O'ahu. A popular sport is surfing. O'ahu has lot's of beaches that have very huge waves.

On December 7, 1941 at 7:57 A.M. There was a surprise attack in Pearl Harbor from the Japanese military. Many people died at Pearl Harbor, in the war. At the Arizona Memorial in Pearl Harbor, if you look down a hole in the memorial, you could see a rusted ship.
