Aloha! We're students in a 4th Grade enrichment program called Dream Quest at Kapolei Elementary School in Kapolei, Hawai'i. We chose to do a project on geology because it is something that we were learning in our classes. This project started out as a simple hyperstudio project that eventually turned into an ongoing internet project. Please take a look below to see a flowchart showing the steps we took to create this project.

The 4th Grade Dream Quest meet and come up with our mission and vision statement. We knew we wanted to do fun projects that used technology.

We chose to do a project on geology because we were studying it in our class. In our fishbone graphic organizer, we organized our thoughts and listed all the things we knew about geology.

We took that information and wrote a story called, "How Our Hawaiian Islands were Formed."

We broke the story down into sections so we could decide on what kinds of pictures to add to the story and put it in a Hyperstudio project.

We drew pictures that matched the story. We used a thin sharpie and outlined the pictures.

The pictures were then scanned and placed in Hyperstudio.

The scanned pictures were colored in hyperstudio. We chose to color the pictures after we scanned it because it allowed us to change colors and try different things.

We realized we didn't have enough pictures so we needed to draw more pictures.

When we finished drawing , scanning and coloring all of the pictures, we typed the story into hyperstudio to go along with all the pictures
