There's a Whole Lotta Folding Going on at
VMS
In March 1999 our school was honored to have visitors from Japan.
Their names are Kimiko, Fumiko, and Yuriko. Kimiko lives in Texas, but lived in Japan until Mr. Brock's brother-in-law married her and brought
her to live in Texas. Fumiko and her granddaughter flew in from Japan
to see Kimiko, who goes by Kim. They all came to our school and our ThinkQuest team had the opportunity of spending the day with them. Kim was the only
one who could speak English. They showed us how to fold some different
models of origami. They also taught us about Japanese schools. We sang
"Sadako's Song" for them in our music class. It was a wonderful learning
experience! by Callie
