Frog Jumping Jubilee


    Purpose:
      The purpose of this activity is to fold an origami
      jumping frog and to test how far the frog can jump and share this data with other students.


    Materials:
      Directions for folding an origami jumping frog
        1 Green 3" x 5" index card
        Metric Ruler



    Procedure:
      Read the short story,
    The Celebrated Jumping Frog of Calaveras County by Mark Twain (1865).

      Fold your frog.

      Work with a partner.

      Jump your frog.

      Measure the distance the frog jumped in centimeters and record.

      Repeat this three times, recording the data each time.

      Find the average of the three jumps.
