Behind
the Scenes! Actors and actresses work hard to make
their characters believable, but they aren't the only ones that do the
work!! Here are a few behind the scene jobs that make
a Broadway show complete:
- Actor and Actresses- people who act out the characters
- Director- the person who directs people where they should
be at what times
- Choreographer- the person who makes up dances to the
various songs
- Music Director- puts where songs should be and who sings
them
- Dressers- people who assist actors and actresses between
scenes to get dressed
- Costume Designers- people who design costumes for the
certain era that is displayed in the musical
- Lighting Technicians- decide which kind of lighting for
the different moods of a musical
-

- Stage Coordinators- people who are on the side of the
curtains telling people when they need to come off and on
- Set Designers- people who design the set for different
scenes of a musical
- Composers- people who compose the music for a musical,
make certain patterns of music for different moods of a musical
- Spokespersons- people who release information about a
musical
- Producers- companies that invest money in the musical
and are the people who make the musical possible
Those are some of the few people that work on a Broadway
production. Just look at a playbill (which is a program to a Broadway show)
and see there are people behind the curtain just as important as the people
in front of the curtain!
