Trees Plants
There are many types of flowers and plants in the rainforest. Bromeliads are flowers that grow on the branches of trees. Their pointed leaves catch the dampness in the air. Lianas are creeping and climbing plants. They climb up trees to reach the sunlight 200-250 feet above. In the Amazon there are 20,000 different types of orchids. Some other types of flowers and plants include Pachira Aquatica, Passiflora, Amazon Lily, Breadfruit, Steriphoma Pardotum, Ginger Lily, mosses, Liverwort, Sweet potatoes, Nutmeg plant, Tomato plant, Coffee plant, Vanilla, Chocolate, and Peanuts. Ferns in the rainforest are practically trees because they are so big. Ferns are plentiful. Seedlings, herbs, and ferns grow on the forest floor. This is how a vine grows. First the vine climbs the tree. It sends a root down to the ground. The roots grow around the tree. Lastly, strangulation, and the light being blocked out, kill the tree.
