| In this section, there will be various things relating to precipitation, temperature, and how the climate outside the rain forest is effected by the way Amazon life is. First of all we will start with the forest. The forest is always healthy all year long. The plants grow, the animals survive, and the forest is usually green. Medicines that we need are in the rain forest. Most of them come from plants, but few come from other sources. Without the condition of the climate that there is, we would not get all of the medicines that we desire. All of this happens because of the temperature and precipitation. They help the plants have what they need to live. Plants need lots of water and warm weather to do photosynthesis and produce what we need. There are also bad things that affect the climate in our world. In the forest, there are plenty of forest fires. (You can read about them in the destruction section.) These outrageous destruction tools cause damage not only in the rain forest, but also in the air. When the fires burn they release carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. When this happens other bad things happen. One of the things is that the atmosphere warms up. This causes environmental problems. Some of these problems include floods and droughts. The floods overflow land and cause more damage. When a drought happens, it does just the opposite. There is a shortage of water. Plants and animals sometimes struggle to survive. After the fires, there are even more problems. Fires usually clear most of the trees and plants that it hits. This increases the chance of having floods. Without any trees, plants, bushes, shrubs, or other obstructions to slow the water down, water moves quickly. That means the water gets to rivers and waterways faster than it usually does. So the rivers rise at a quicker rate than usual. This causes floods that add to the destruction. When there is deforestation the exact opposite happens. Deforestation causes droughts. Then the plants and animals of the rain forest start to die. Because there is a poor water supply, they do not have what they need to live. So again, there is a lot of destruction and damage to the rain forest. If the trees and plants are dying, another bad thing happens. There is lots of moisture in the air. A goodly amount of it comes from the trees and plants. This means that plants and animals have less water to survive. That could possibly make certain plants in that location of the world extinct or endangered. Then the Amazon Rain Forest would not be the forest it is now. You have learned much about how the Amazon Rain Forest, such as how the climate is affected, and as well as how the climate affects others. Since the climate is so stable, the Amazon Rain Forest is still almost the same as it was years ago. |
