Temperature

The temperature in the Amazon rain forest stays almost the same all year long.  It helps to keep the plants living and the animals surviving.   Without the constant temperature, many of the plants would die, or go under serious condition of dying.  Because of this, it makes the rain forest only have one season.  That season is summer.  The average annual temperature is 81 degrees Fahrenheit.  With the average around 81, temperatures usually do not go much higher or lower.  So, they normally stay between 68 and 85 degrees Fahrenheit.  The western part of the rain forest is always hot and humid.  This helps the plants do photosynthesis and live.  To the plants and animals, water is very important, but so is temperature.  Sometimes it gets to hot, and the plants start to wilt and the animals start to die.  If this happens, not only will these animals in the rain forest die, so will others.  This will happen because the normal food chain will be broken.  Then, if we don`t help, the animals of the rain forest will become extinct.  This is why the temperature usually stays close to the same.  Now, we are going to go to something more specific than yearly temperatures.  The average monthly temperature is 78 degrees Fahrenheit.  This tells you that most months are over the middle divider of the yearly average.  At night, the temperatures usually seem to drop.  They are usually below the middle average, even though they almost never fall below 68 degrees Fahrenheit.  One of the main cities in the rain forest is Manaus.  It also has the same temperatures as shown above.  The following are the city`s monthly temperatures:

A river in the rain forest
Climate in the rain forest is very important.  Without it, many plants and animals would not be able to survive.  Animals would struggle to live in their environment.  Also, without the temperature being as constant and warm as it is, the Amazon Rain Forest might not be considered one.  All of this is about the Amazon Rain Forest temperatures, and why it is so important to the living creatures in the rain forest.
