| The Amazon Rain Forest has many interesting landforms, such as a basin and the Andes Mountains. The Amazon Basin has an area of 7,050,000 square meters. Most of the Amazon Basin has been explored and been put on charts. Over 18,000 plant species have been found at the basin. The big Andes Mountains reach into the Amazon Rain Forest. The Amazon Rain Forest is rich in many resources such as gold, diamonds, lumber, rubber, oil and jute. It is also rich in trees. Scientists have found over 3,000 kinds of trees in the Amazon Rain Forest, which average from 50 to 150 feet in height. The Amazon Rain Forest has over 40,000 varieties of plants. The expansion of agriculture in the Amazon Rain Forest has been accomplished by great deforestation, soil erosion, and the ecosystem's destruction. |
