Spider Monkey Title

Spider monkeys are often found in tropical rainforests in the Western Hemisphere from Central Mexico to Central Bolivia.  They eat fruits, seeds, and other plants.  Spider monkeys can hang by their tails and can pick objects up with it by curling the tail around the object.  Spider monkeys often swing through the trees fast.

Different species of spider monkeys have black, brown, gold, reddish, or tan fur.  Adults weigh 10 to 19 pounds and grow almost 2 feet tall.  Spider monkeys, unlike most primates, have 4 fingers and no thumb.

Spider monkeys are one of the most threatened New World monkeys.  They have been hunted to extinction in the Amazon Basin.  It's our job to save them.
