| The people of the rainforest have lived there for hundreds of thousands of years. They have developed medicines and beliefs. Their medicines can cure cancer cells and AIDS, but not completely. As we destroy the rainforests, hidden medicines that may kill cancer cells and AIDS go with it. The same people are cutting it down. It may not seem like a big deal, but every second we lose a portion of the rainforest about the size of a football field! That means we lose 86,400 football fields of rainforest every day. 31,536,000 football fields of rainforest every year really adds up! So SAVE OUR RAINFORESTS! |
