The giant anteater is a toothless animal that feeds on ants. It has white and black stripes running down its back and a small tail. The anteater has a keen sense of smell to make it easier to track down ant nests. If an ant nest is found, the giant anteater usually rips it open with its sharp fore claws. The giant anteater's tongue can grow as long as two feet! Some species of giant anteaters live in the trees and have prehensile tails. |
