Bermuda Triangle

Also called Devil's Triangle, is an area of ocean off the Southeastern coast of Florida
where many ships and planes have vanished from the face of the earth. Commercial and military craft cross this area unharmed each day. Many people believe the disappearances in the Bermuda Triangle have taken place under some mysterious circumstances. A few of the circumstances are that only a few captains or pilots radioed distress messages. Searchers seldom fond bodies or survivors, though bits of wreckage were recovered after several disappearances. Some scientists believe that violent unexpected storms or downward air currents destroyed the ships and planes. Scientists also belief that swift ocean currents may have swept the wreckage far from where the craft disappeared making it very difficult to find the vessel.

The Bermuda triangle is about 440,000 square miles. It is located in the Atlantic Ocean where the tips of the triangle lie in southern Florida, Bermuda, and Puerto Rico. Creating imaginary lines allows it to look like a triangle. In just the past 30 years, more than 100 ships and planes, and 1,000 lives have been lost.
