Great Wall
Great Wall of China

Around 214B.C. the emperor Shihuangdi had united the different parts of China together. He ordered the separate parts of the wall to be joined together. The wall would be used for protection. The wall contained little watch towers.
The watch towers were a place where the soldiers could rest.
Inside of them were chests of medicines, food, drink, and extra clothing. The Great Wall of China was built out of dirt, stone, and brick. It was used as a defensive barrier up until 1644. Since then it was used as a road way and attraction. People still visit the famous site.
