The Jaguar

 

jag2.gif (54844 bytes) The Jaguar is the largest, most powerful wild cat of the western hemisphere. The Jaguar measures 5 to 8 1/2 feet long, including their 1 1/2 to 2 1/2 foot tail. There weight is 150 to 300 pounds (68 to136 kilograms). A jaguar has a golden or brownish-yellow fur and many spots. The spots along its back and sides are light-colored with dark borders and have a dark spot in the center.
The spots are also on it legs, head, and underside. The Jaguar lives in New Mexico and Texas.

The Female and the Male only live with each for 95 to 169 days. The Jaguar can have 4 to5 babies a year. The Jaguar mostly hunts at night and will hunt during the day when the babies are hungry.   The Jaguar eats tapirs, turtles, deer, fish, and wild pig. They can  grow up to 68 years.
