Hounds
This dog, usually works independently. Hounds are sweet and loving with humans. There are two types of Hounds. There is the scent hound and the sight hound. The reasons for this title is simple. Sight hounds hunt with their eyes, and scent hounds hunt with their noses.
Some terriers are small, but strong. They catch vermin. Because they will dig when they hunt, they might just end up digging in your yard. A Terrier will love if you train it to dig in a sandbox. Terriers are able to live in a city or a country. Terriers may need special grooming.
Sporting dog are silent, energetic, friendly, good trackers, focused, fun-loving, non-territorial, eager to please, and not dominate. They are retrievers on the outside but family pets on the inside. These dogs will go well with a family that is energetic, joggers, and people who enjoy the outdoors. The population of sporting dogs are active and enthusiastic and few are couch potatoes.
Non-Sporting dogs don't really fit in any of the other categories. They don't really fit the standards of being a sporting dog, a terrier, etc. They love to be with their owners, and are quick learners.
Working dogs have been long known for their fierce protectiveness of their owners and their willingness to please. They work well with people who are constantly active. These dogs, because of their size, may scare small children.
Herding dogs have been known as shepherds for years. They are intelligent, fast, and strong. They are quick learners and are eager to please. These dogs need lots of exercise and need to work. Herding dogs are very loyal to their families.
Being a Miscellaneous only means that your dog is eligible to participate in obedience trials and earn titles. But, are ineligible for champion points.
Remember when training, no matter what type of characteristics your dog has in order to succeed your dog needs your encouragement, patience, and guidance. Your half of a whole, united you stand, separated you fall.
