located in Western Europe, is an independent
nation. It is the largest country in Western
Europe. It has a population of 58,615,681. It is
shaped like a hexagon and three of its six sides
are bordered by the English Channel on the
northwest, the Atlantic Ocean and the Bay of
Biscay on the west, and the Mediterranean Sea on
the southeast. It is about 620 miles (1,000 km) in
diameter.
The capital of France is
Paris. The population of Paris is
2,152,423 people. Paris is located on both sides of
the Seine River. The average temperature is 66
degrees Fahrenheit in July and 37 degrees
Fahrenheit in January. Paris is known for its
famous monuments, such as the
Eiffel
Tower, Arc
de Triomphe de l'Etoile,
Notre
Dame de Paris, and the
Louvre.
France gave America the Statue
of Liberty, and in
exchange America gave France a miniature
replica
of the Statue of
Liberty.

The Eure department of
Normandy is about 30 miles from Rouen (the capital
of Normandy) and 60 miles from Paris. This is an
area rich with trees and scenic landmarks.

Aubevoye
is located on the Seine River It has about 4,200
inhabitants. It lies on a woody hillside. Like any
other town, Aubevoye has a small town hall, a
library, a post office, a primary school, a
secondary school, a gymnasium, a music and drama
center, a community hall, and a nice little
romanesque church. Closer to Gaillon, there is a
swimming pool, tennis courts, and a golf course.
Most of the people in Aubevoye have houses with
small gardens. It is a countryside with rich
artistic treasures and half timbered houses,
churches, abbeys and castles either
medieval,
renaissance
or classical
style from the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries
