Lots of people think of vampire bats as Draculas. But, they only suck the blood of animals such as pigs, cows, and horses. They can live up to 9 years in the wild and 20 in captivity. Their body is 2 3/4 inches long. But, their wingspan is nearly 8 inches long. It may seem like it's pretty big, but they only weigh 1 ounce. They live in colonies of from 6 to 2000. Now do you think of vampire bats as Draculas?
