Ablation - The process of removing material from a glacier.

Ablation zone- The place on a glacier where more matter is lost than gained

Accumulation- The process of adding material to a glacier

Accumulation zone- The section of a glacier where matter is only added

Arete- A steep sided mountain ridge at the crossing of two cirques, formed by frost action or glaciers.

Cirque- A steep semi-circular rock basin, that forms at the head of glaciers.

Drumlin- A long, rounded hill made of a glacier drift.

Erratic- Bits of rock and dirt left behind by glaciers.

Esker-A long, low ridge, made of glacial sand and gravel.

Frost Action- The wearing away of something because of repeated freezing and thawing.

Glacial Drift- Material taken from glaciers.

Moraine-Material picked up by a glacier while it moves.
