Introduction

Battle of Ridgefield

On April 27, 1777, the Battle of Ridgefield occurred in Ridgefield and Danbury, Connecticut. One hero of the battle was Cybil Luddington, who acted like Paul revere by yelling, "The British are coming! They're burning Danbury!" Another big hero was David Wooster, who died in battle. George Washington and French General Rocheambeau led the Americans in battle through Ridgefield.

In the end, the American side won because the British surrendered. Even though this was a small battle, it signifies one piece in the jigsaw puzzle of the Revolutionary War, and it helped the Colonists win, nevertheless.
