Andrew Lloyd WebberAndrew Lloyd Webber was born in 1948 in London, England, as a normal city boy who would become a famous playwright. It would have been a bright day for his parents if they had known he was going to be a famous playwright. Out of the many plays Webber has written, his most famous are "Jesus Christ Superstar," "Cats", and "Phantom of the Opera." He went to school at the Brooklyn Academy of Music in New York, The University of Oxford, and the Royal College of Music. Webber published his first composition when he was nine years old. While he was a student in 1967, he wrote "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat." In 1972, Webber and Timothy Rice wrote "Jesus Christ Superstar," which was nominated for five Tony Awards. Also, in that year Webber as a composer won the Drama Desk Award. Webber also wrote "Cats" which won two Tony Awards, "Phantom of the Opera," which won seven Tony Awards, and he won two other Tony Awards for each of his plays "Starlight Express," "Aspects of Love," and "Sunset Boulevard."
