The 1970's were a period where disco, punk, gospel, and rock were very popular. Out of the many artists from the 70's there are a few that really stick out. One of them is Andrew Lloyd Webber who is well known for his plays and operas. Another is a group called Gladys Knight and the Pips.
In the 70's, the U.S. saw the end of the Vietnam war, the continuance of the Cold war, and The Watergate Scandal. These tragedies had influenced many songs.
