What's the Use???

          Check out some usefulinsects

          and see if they're usefulor not!

      Kadydids are useful becausethey eat other bugs.
      Praying mantises are useful

      because they eat other bugs.

      This one is a female.

      This one is male.

      Cow killers aren't very useful

      because they can kill a human

      in one bite (as well as cows).

      Wolf spiders are very useful

      because they eat other bugs.

      This one has spiderlings (or baby spiders) on her back.

      Funnelwebs are useful because

      they eat other bugs. But some

      have a painful (and deadly) sting.

      Black widow spiders are useful

      because they eat other bugs. But

      their bite is one of the most toxic

      spider bite's there is.

      Wasps aren't very useful. They sting us and lovesugar. Sugar is one reason theysting us. Another is defense.
      This emporer scorpian can kill us in a singlesting (duh)! It is obviously an un-useful arachnid.
      The giant water bug (nicknamed

      "Toe-biter") eats little birds like robins.

      What a nasty arachnid!

      Giant centipedes aren't useful because they havea deadly bite.
      These click beetles (snap beetles) aren't usefulbecause they live in wood and eat it too!
      Gloworm beetles aren't useful but aren't bad either.All they do is eat and glow and grow. The males glow at night because ofbiolumenesent bacteria living in them.
      These insects aren't useful because they

      eat wood. They are called flat-headed

      borers because of their flat head.

      This cicada isn't very useful. It can be as loudas a plane!
