If you guessed Sam, you were wrong!  Nature was really calling her name.

As for Bette,  she just likes the idea of ruby studded marbles.

Sheila thought she saw something at the bottom of the punch bowl and was determined to find it.

Julie just liked the game of Forts.

Susan was the real culprit, as you might have guessed. As you read in the story  Susanís dress didnít blow in the wind like everyone elseís.  It turned out Susan had taped the marbles to the inside of her dress hem, thatís why it didnít blow in the wind. She confessed to her crime and apologized for her doings, and they all lived happily ever after.
