Wolves are related to dogs, jackals, and coyotes. Wolves are mammals just like you and me. The gray wolf (Canis lupes), also called a timber wolf, is the largest of all wolves. Wolves are pack hunting animals. They are also very social with the rest of the pack. Wolves are the ancestors of dogs. Wolves are also very smart. They have developed many attack formations. Wolves are native to many parts in the world, and are capable of adapting to many different kinds of weather. Wolves are like giant German Sheppard dogs with a bushy tail and longer legs. The color of most wolf fur is gray or black sometimes red. Wolves are very good hunters, because they can hear and smell things a mile away.
