LIFE UP THERE

Look up in the sky, it's a comet, it's a satellite, no it's  the      International Space Station.   Life in space for the crew will almost be like life on earth training to be an astronaut.  They will be able to exercise in the gym, use the kitchen to prepare their food, take showers, go to the bathroom and even see a movie.  Here is NASA's picture of what the inside of the ISS will look like.

There is a list of cites where the station can be seen with a telescope.  You can go to the complete listing of sites at NASA's web site at http://38.201.67.72/realdata/tracking/.  There is also a very cool virtual tour of the Space Shuttle on line at, http://www.unitedspacealliance.com/tour/index.html.
You will need the REAL SPACE plug-in from Live Picture to view the virtual tours.  It can be downloaded from the Space Alliance web site. Also don't miss going into the pool and go swimming with the astronauts.  Be careful the panoramic view can make you seasick!
