BOILED SPINACH
One traditional
side dish is ohitashi: boiled spinich or other leafy vegetables sprinkled
with dried bonito shavings and soy sauce. It's popular because it goes
well with any dish and it's easy to prepare. But be careful not to pour
too much soy sauce in.
1.Wash spinach thoroughly removing
spoiled leaves. Place in two pans of boiling water, add a pinch of salt.
2.Remove after the water comes
to boil again. Squeeze out all water. Sprinkle bonito shavings and add
soy sauce.
