Problems of the Ocean

There are many problems of the ocean, but the biggest and most deadly to the plants and animals is pollution. There are several different kinds of pollution. Oil spills, acid rain, garbage, and landfill drainage. Some of them could be prevented, if attempted.

Oil spills happen when large ships carrying oil leak or spill oil into the ocean, killing most animals by poisoning them. Lately people have been trying to clean up oil spills more than they did in the past, but they are still a big threat to the plants and animals in the ocean.

Acid rain happens when pollution from the land goes into the air then rains into the ocean. It poisons the animals, as does all pollution.

Garbage can be thrown into the ocean and kill plants and animals by trapping and killing them. Some products that are being dumped into the ocean include sewage, bath water, and plastic.(Such as soda pop ring holders.)

Some big companies have large nuclear plants that have nowhere to dump their waste, so the ocean seems like a perfect place. The only problem is the life in the ocean can't take it. People have to realize that and try to help. So far not much has been done for that.
