In 1996 an insurance company in Great Britain said that a man calling himself Joseph Carpenter would be paid one million pounds after proving he had been abducted by aliens. Many people were suspicious and it was soon proved that the story was made up to advertise insurance policies. Joseph carpenter turned out to be a man with connections to the insurance company.

There have been some reports of attempted dog abductions. In one in 1952 witness reported humanlike aliens making a pathetic attempt to kidnap a dog before heading back into their spaceship by walking right through the walls!

It is possible to get insurance against being taken aboard a UFO. So far a few thousand people have taken out policies.

In one of the strangest UFO cases in history a man from Brazil claimed he was taken aboard a UFO in 1969. He met hairy dwarflike creatures and noticed that there were stone walls inside the UFO.
