Shakespeare's Family

Willam Shakespeare was the third of eight children. His father was John Shakespeare, tanner, glover dealer in grain, and town official of Stratford. His mother, Mary, was the daughter of Robert Arden, a prosperous gentleman -farmer.

The Shakespeares lived on Henley Street. Technically he was the first child, because the two sisters he had before him died from the black plauge. Now the disease is wiped out. The two sisters' names were Margaret and Joan. Joan was first and then Margaret. He was the oldest son.

At the age of 18, Will married Anne Hathaway. Later on he had one girl named Suzanna who was born May 26, 1583. After that they had one set of twins, a boy and a girl. On February 2, 1585 they were born. Their names were Hamnet and Judith. Hamnet did not survive.


Shakespeare's Friends
Although there is not much known about William's friends, he was once poaching with them. He was poaching Sir Thomas Lucy's rabbits and he was supposed to pay a large fine. He did pay the fine. After that, he got back at Sir Thomas Lucy and wrote a nasty poem and pasted it in the middle of the town where everyone could see it. After that he left for England.
