Shakespeare, the Actor

Shakespeare was a playwright and an actor. We know nothing about when Shakespeare moved from Stratford to London or the beginning of his theatrical career. In 1592 another playwright, Robert Greene, warned other playwrights about an actor who was trying to be a playwright, and his name was Shakespeare! In 1594 he belonged to a theater company which later became the Royal Company, making Shakespeare the playwright.

Shakespeare's baldness made him look distinguished on stage. He spent most of his time with other actors. The plague shut down most of his theaters. He was involved in all parts of his plays and was able to see exactly what worked on stage and what didn't. He earned most of his money on plays. Some people were jealous of Shakespeare because of his ability to both write and act.
