The Gray Man
By: Krystal Gillig
Long ago there was a man named Richmond who was engaged to a lady named Helena. Richmond had to go off and was returning in three days. While he was gone Helena got worried.
On the third day Richmond returned and realized he was stuck. He stepped out of his boat and fell in quicksand. As the sand swallowed him, he made it worse by struggling. The sand had swallowed him completely. His hat remained afloat, but no one saw it.
Helena opened the door to come see him. He was no where in sight. She and her parents searched for hours, but found nothing. She cried and cried until one night she walked out to the shore and saw, Richmond, her love.
For a strange reason he was covered in gray sand yelling over and over 'Beware my love, leave this place'. Richmond then disappeared. She ran home and begged her parents to leave the shore side and surly they did for the night.
That night there was a horrible hurricane, and every ones' house was torn down except theirs.
P.S. to reader: If you see the Grayman at night before a hurricane consider your self lucky. In the year 1954 a man covered his house in towels and not one was blown off because he had seen the Grayman.
