Sperm Whale

 

The sperm whale can be 55 feet long. Its brain can weigh up to 20 lbs. It has a single S shaped blowhole which is found on the left side of its head. The sperm whale weighs from 40 to 50 tons. The sperm whale has the largest head of all animals! Its head is light gray or white and its body is dark gray to dark brown. Near the mouth and belly it can also be light gray or white. It has special markings. It has a square-shaped head that can be 1/3 of the body length. The skin is often wrinkled.

The sperm whale is a toothed whale. It eats mainly squid, octopi and sometimes other fish. It can dive down to depths of up to 10,000 feet, which is almost 2 miles. The sperm whale is endangered.
