Northern Bottle-Nosed Whale

Large forehead that is pronounced in older males. Males are slightly larger than females. The adult has only two teeth on the bottom jaw. Some whales have two teeth that are more visible.

Sometimes they will eat hearing and starfish along with mollusks and squids.

They will sometimes be in groups of four to ten. The male and female mate in spring and summer.

This whale was hunted to depletion.

They can stay under water 10 to 20 minutes when feeding.
