Danger_b.gif (2930 bytes)NICOTINE AND YOU

The signals from the brain flow through neurons to every part of the body, like a telephone system. Neurons are not connected.

The signals are carried by chemical messengers. The nicotine changes this by attaching the end of the nerve cells to receptor sites. (In the Brain)The nicotine will start to damage the receptor sites after a short time. Damaged receptors can’t function well unless nicotine is there. People quitting have a hard time because it takes time for the receptors to heal without nicotine.
