Areas of Our City

In our city there are many different areas. They are...

1. Commercial

2. Government/Laws

3. Private services

4. Recreation

5. Entertainment

6. Infrastructure

7. Power

8. Parks

9. Emergency services

10. Public services

Each area is very important to our city.

Commercial zones provide offices, corporations and companies so people have jobs. Without these jobs, the economy would not develop and there would be a lot of homeless people.

The government provides services that people use every day. It provides things like city water, education for people of all ages and city infrastructure. The government also provides laws that prevent disorderly people from harming the city and its citizens.

Private services are important because they provide health care and other professional services such as lawyers, repair people and media.

The purpose of recreation is so the residents are entertained and have fun and also to attract tourists for the economy. Some examples are convention centers, stadiums, sports domes and amusement parks.

Entertainment lets people have fun and let go. The definition of entertainment is how people have fun at amusement parks and other places like Ultra Zone. Entertainment can also keep people in shape, for example if they like to go to gyms and work out.

Infrastructure is the most important part of the city because it helps to plan where everything in the city is placed. Infrastructure includes power lines, water pipes, roads and placement of buildings. It is like the backbone or frame of the city.

Energy is the power source of the whole city. There are seven different types of energy which are solar, geothermic, wind, nuclear, micro-hydro, H power (waste recycling) and chemical power.

Parks are another area very important to people because that's where local residents and tourists go for fun and to relax. They are also used as buffer zones and keep the city beautiful. Parks are one of the reasons why Hawaii is known to be so beautiful and comforting.

Emergency services work very hard to meet people's needs. When someone's house with all of his precious memories is on fire, who does he call? The fire department! What about if someone's child has had an accident and has hurt himself, he would call the hospital or the ambulance. What if people come home from work and find their home has been broken into, they would call the police. So, if there weren't any emergency services, disasters couldn't be taken care of.

Public services are available to the public provided by the government that are paid for by taxpayers' dollars. They give the city zoos, aquariums, job information, public transportation, employment and training services, garbage pick-up, animal shelters and libraries, etc.
