People of Party

The most commonly known people on the Corps of Discovery are probably Captain Meriwether Lewis (Merryweather Loois) and Captain William Clark (Willeum Clark).  Others were the interpreter Charbonneau (Sharbono), his wife Sacagawea (Saykakawaya) and their son Pompey, York, the black slave, Seaman, the black Newfoundland dog, John Ordway, the top sergeant at Camp Wood, Illinous, the Field (Feelled) brothers: Reubin (Roobin) and Joseph (Josef), the active and ready young privates, Pierre Cruzatte, the one-eyed fiddlleman, and George Drouillard (Jorge Droolyard), the hunter, tracker, and riverman. My personal favorite was John Colter (Hint: my name is Colter Lane), the trapper who dropped out on the way back.  In all the total number of members was about 50 people.
