Frogs
Many frogs live in the water, and some live on land in burrows and trees. Frogs are amphibians.
They catch their prey with their sticky-like tongues. They eat flies,
mosquitoes,crickets, and other small bugs.
At night, you can hear them ribbit for hours. They ribbit by filling
one or more of the vocal sacs with air. Male frogs call to females with loud croaking
sounds in the mating season. The Leopard Frog, the Green Frog, the American Toad, and the
American Bullfrog are commonly heard.
All frogs have a little bit of poison that is produced in special skin
glands, but most of the poison is not very strong.
The small Poison Arrow Frog that lives in Central and South America, produces
one of the strongest poisons ever. Just a small amount of poison from this frog can kill a
human!
