Flying Squirrels

The flying squirrel lives in  North American tree trunks. They hunt at night for wild fruits and dig for fungus. When he jumps high, he uses a special extra fold of skin stretching from his front legs to his hind legs to help him glide through the night.  So he doesn't actually fly and is not a "true flier."

The flying squirrel can glide over 150 ft, he is 6 in. tall, and his tail is 5 in. long.
