The 20th Century
In the 20th century there were many advances in technology and science made these advences and there are so many it would be hard to discuss them all here. I have chosen to discuss cancer.
Cancer has been know and feared for ages, but its happening could only be speculatively inferred until recently.Knowledge of the disease grew in the 19th and 20th centuries. Fear increased when peole became more aware of cancer and that it had no cure. Even after surgeons were able to remove tumors from previously hopeless body interiors, cancers were still held interior. Besides the overall mortality and rate of survival after the operation were not accuratly know until the 20th centur. Statistics say that cancer has been increasing all over the world. For example in 1975 the incidence was 75% higher than in 1933. Before 1900, lung cancer was rare, and now its on of the leading causes of death. there are also ove 100 different types of cancer tumors.
