Weaving Title
Long ago, Chamorros didn't have cloth or fabrics to make designer clothing so they depended on other resources.  They used coconut leaves to make a variety of hats, baskets, and even rooftops for huts (little houses).  Weaving was a useful yet fun way to clothe and shelter themselves long ago. Until today, kids, even adults, are fascinated by the creations that local Guamanians make.  Adults and kids that have tried it for the first time can even make them.  The coconut is the most used resource besides the bamboo. Coconut leaves are like Mother Nature's origami paper and that is why it is a convenient house decoration or a nice final touch for a bouquet of flowers.Woven Hat
