Poison Arrow Frog
Most kinds of poison arrow frogs are small enough to sit on a penny.  The brilliant colors warn predators not to eat the frog because it’s poisonous.  The parents will climb a tree carrying their tadpoles on their backs.  When they reach a bromeliad plant, they set their tadpoles free in the pool of water.  Indians of the rain forest use the frogs’ poison on the tips of their arrows to hunt.  They eat insects and live on the understory and the forest floor.
