It’s true, a you might have red in “ the problem” Y2K is not only a factor in the USA but also in the world. Not only large and small business but your home could be affected to. Take a five page report you need tomorrow and times that by about 10,000 and you might feel the stress that some computer engineers are going through. Now that you see my point about the USA some interesting information around the world.

This is a map is indicating what countries will be affected and what will not. The 15, 33, 50, and 66 % is saying that the percent of computers will crash, confused yet? For example 15 % of the USA will crash.

I think that by far Asia will have the most problems. Africa will be affected but they don’t have the computers to have a major affect in the world. Where in Asia will be affected the most? Japan and China. All except in Hong Kong in China. Japan and China is not addressing the problem. As you might have seen in the map above Japan will supposedly have 50 % of the computers crash. China is even worse with 66 % is going to crash. With Japan being so much more technological it’s surprising they have not done any thing to fix the problem. Another thing that I think is interesting is that with all the panic going around the media it could cause a wide spread panic. With that it could cause our stock market to crash, thus causing our own economic crises. I think that the Y2K problem will cause isolated riots, black outs in some areas, major business will be ok but some smaller things might be affected more. I wouldn’t recommend flying or being in a foreign country because I would hate to be away form home if something major happens to your house or neighborhood, for instance what if your alarm goes out and you are robbed.
