What Others Are Doing

Ever since the news about Y2K came out people have been storing food, taking money out of banks, and buying generators. Well, almost everyone. some people believe that all of the computers will be fixed by January 1, 2000.

People are worried about power going out, being robbed, being fired, if banks close, and if stock market crashes. The most common things people are doing are:buy candles, wood, and enough food for a month (if power goes out), keep $1000 hidden(if robbed). You should save six months living expense(being fired), sell house & rent(banks close), sell stock & buy gold & other hard assets(stock market crashes).

There are some people who are planning to leave the city after January 1, 2000. They want to wait until things go back to normal. They want to go somewhere that Y2K is not driving everyone crazy. So they head toward the hills. Since the computer problem is only in civilized places people want to leave the cities. Their going to be away from the computer problem.

Most people are trying to find out all they can about Y2K. Take for example water, people are trying to find out how much to save for Y2K. They go to web sites, watch news, and just listen for the answer. Most people are saying save two months (about one gallon a day) water for each person in your family, minimum. Plus extra water for washing dishes, cooking, exc. You would also have to get a water pump, for running the water through faucets.

With one more year left you still have time to get ready for Y2K. To collect water, food, and money. To get money out of banks. To get solid assets.
