Peppy Panpipes

Supplies:

  1. 5 feet plastic pipe

  2. Red ribbon

  3. Thin cardboard

  4. Colored clay (red, blue, yellow, white)

  5. Scissors

  6. Colored plastic tape

  7. Glue

 

Cut a 2" piece of pipe. Cut 11 more pieces - each 1/2" longer than the last. For example, the first piece will be 2", the next 2-1/2", 3", 3-1/2", etc. You may need an adult to help with this.

To straighten and clean pipe, soak in hot water for a minute of two.

When pipe has softened, straighten it. Scrub pipe if necessary to remove lettering.

Dip in cold water to solidify. Let outside of pipes dry thoroughly.

Wind colored tape around each pipe to decorate.

 

Lay pipes side by side.- shortest to longest.

Tape pipes together - as shown.

Glue a piece of ribbon to a strip of cardboard.

Glue cardboard over top of tape on pan pipes (to hide it).

 

Roll clay balls and place firmly in bottom of pipes to close them.
