Balate is related to a group of animals know as echinoderms  which also includes sea urchins and starfish. There are 40 different  kinds of balate around Guam. The sea cucumber, starfish and sea urchins do not have a brain, eyes, or ears,  but they have a nerve  network that enables them to function. The sea cucumber can  tear off  your  skin and it cans stretch to  6 feet 1.8m. The balate can eject out extremely sticky stuff. The way you can take it off, is with wet sand and rub it until it comes off.
