1 The Registry Room

The Registry Room was also know as the Great Hall. The immigrants were in the Registry Room until they were called to the exams. Picture 1 is of the (renovated) steps that the immigrants took to get to the Registry Room. Picture 2 through 7 are other views of the Registry Room.

3. Through America's Gate and 4. Peak Immigration Years

We are not exactly sure whether all of the following pictures are in these two exhibits. But we do know that Picture 1 is of Annie Moore, the first immigrant to pass through Ellis Island. Picture 2 and 3 show immigrants arriving on Ellis Island. Picture number 4 is of a ship's manifest, which listed all the passengers.

Picture 5 is a view of the hospital buildings as seen through a window of the Registry Room. Picture 6 shows immigrants going through legal examination process.
