The Life
The mighty jaguar crouches down watching the grazing tapir intensely.
She slowly manages to get within a few feet of the small mammal.
The tapir is unaware. Has no idea what's happening.
He munches on some more grass.. Then hears something. A twig had snapped.
He turns his head.
The jaguar pounces at her prey.
A tall, strong, tree seems to touch the sky,
it's so tall. Beautiful parrots fly, gracefully, showing off their colors
of red, blue, and yellow. They squawk loudly, telling others of their presence.
On the other hand, snakes thrive amongst its branches, silently, trying
to keep their presence a secret.
The monkey swings from tree to tree, then looks
down, and realizes how lucky he is, to not be the jaguars prey. Each
branch a foothold, he grabs a moss cover branch, and, to his surprise,
the branch bends! Two eyes are revealed, and a mouth with sharp
teeth twists back around to the monkey.. Around its chest.. She starts
squeezing harder and harder.. The monkey falls limp.
All watched by a native. He stares at the scene,
then picks up the arrow dart frog and poisons his stick for hunting..
The piranhas wait. They're hungry. Very hungry.
The three toed sloth realizes that he must
go to the other side of the river. He crawls from the sanctuary of his
tree and into the river. The piranha notices the movement in the water
and suddenly, with tons of others following her, she swims toward the movement,
and opens jaws wide, ready to eat..
This is a moment in the rainforest. But why did
the animals do what they did? Where can it be found? Why did we make a
page? Why should I care? Your questions will be answered... Just..
