The rain forest is has over
half of all plants and animals on earth, yet it covers only six percent
of the earth.. Plus, it breathes in carbon dioxide and gives back oxygen.
Some rain forests are unexplored, with all sorts of new animals and even
new tribes of people. The National Wildlife
Federation in 1993 listed ten reasons why we should save the rain forests:
1. People have no right to destroy the rain forests for their own purposes.
2. Destroying the forests may change the world's weather patterns (It caused global warming!).
3. The loss of these forests are causing bad problems such as soil erosion and water pollution.
4. Wood could soon become scarce and more expensive.
5. Many birds in North America depend on the rain forest. The loss of the rain forest will affect these species.
7. The rainforest houses an entire race of natives! And we destroying it!
8. Rainforests are homes to many creatures and people.
9. The forests contain more than a majority of all plant and animals species in the world. Destroying the forests will destroy these species forever.
10. So little is known about the rainforest!
I hope I you understand why
the rain forest's destruction is so serious. We have so little time to
save this wonderful creation. Find out how
to save this wonderful gift! And see what the animals
have to say. And have you learned anything?! Take the
test here..
