Macaw

There are over 16 species of parrots that are Macaws. Petite Hahns weigh approximately 165 grams. The Macaws have very long tails, which are as long as their body. Large Macaws are very pretty and brightly colored, but the mini Macaws are not nearly as pretty. Most of the Macaws have bare skin around the mandible (beak), but not all the species have such a characteristic.
Where do Macaws live? They live in the warm, Neotropical regions from Southern Mexico through the Central America, and down into central South America. Different species of Macaws live in different locales within a country.
Do you know if Macaws are on the endangered species list? I have everything you need to know if you can't answer the question. There are tons of reasons why the Macaw is endangered. Guess what the number one reason is? Well because we're destroying the trees and other habitats were Macaws are found.  Why do birds have to stay in trees? Birds need to breed in their nests. One more reason is because parrots are taking in for pet trade. In the year 1980, over millions of birds were captured in South and Central America. There were tons more in Europe and Asia.
